Uncommon Crafts is a woman-owned art and crafts event business, built on a love of art in all its forms. Founded by Sundi Michel and supported by her husband Milo, the business brings decades of shared artistic experience to creating unforgettable events.
Sundi
The visionary and founder of Uncommon Crafts: a performer, storyteller, and multi-faceted artist. She has professional roots in theatre but a passion and aptitude in many art disciplines like ceramics, painting, gardening, and cooking. She has spent her life immersed in creative expression and is a honed storyteller that can effortlessly capture and engage an audience.
As an experienced instructor, she knows how to reach every kind of person, making creativity approachable and attainable for anyone.
Milo
An accomplished creative professional who now focuses his talents on the business side of Uncommon Crafts. With over a decade of experience in theatrical production - including direction, technical design, and writing - he knows how to script an event that feels effortless on stage (and off).
He thrives behind the scenes, ensuring each event runs seamlessly so Sundi’s vision can shine.
As lifelong Texans and artists, Milo and Sundi are a husband-and-wife team who combine creative expertise with genuine warmth. Sundi believes art isn’t really about what you make but more about the experience of making it. Together they’ve studied and explored countless mediums, always chasing new and uncommon ways to create, and she’s excited to bring that vision to you.
Uncommon Crafts was mainly born from their love of sharing art with others. Whether working with clay, paint, or random thrifted materials, they know how to bring imagination, skill, and a sense of fun to any project. Their goal is simple: make creativity accessible, memorable, and actually fun.
